Paintistanbul 2026 Launch Held at Çırağan Palace

The paint and coatings industry is coming together at Paintistanbul, the world's third-largest and Europe's second-largest fair in the field.

The press launch for Paintistanbul, one of Eurasia's leading events for paint raw materials and coatings, construction chemicals and adhesive raw material technologies, was held at Çırağan Palace with strong participation from industry representatives. The launch presented the fair's scope, its contribution to the sector and this year's leading innovation themes. More than 400 exhibitors and over 10,000 visitors are expected to attend. Speakers also highlighted the Turkish paint industry's economic scale of $2.47 billion and its position in the global market.

The launch was hosted by Kenan Baytaş, President of the Paint Industrialists Association (BOSAD); Cengiz Yaman, Chairman of the Board of CNG Group; and Hakan Ünel, Chairman of the Paintistanbul Fair and Congress Working Group. The event shared key developments in the sector and the leading themes of Paintistanbul 2026.

In his opening remarks, BOSAD President Kenan Baytaş said that, with more than 130 members representing around 85% of the industry, the association has a strong presence. He noted that the paint industry is among the strategic and pioneering sectors of Turkey's economy thanks to its production capacity, advanced technology infrastructure and high added value. He added that the industry plays a critical role in many areas, from construction and automotive to energy and maritime applications, through both protective and aesthetic solutions.

BOSAD President Baytaş: “Our Industry Has a Scale of 1 Million Tonnes”

Baytaş stated that Paintistanbul is internationally recognised for its number of exhibitors and visitors, bringing domestic and international companies together and creating an important bridge for trade and interaction in paint, paint raw materials and construction chemicals. He said that the organisation is expected to make valuable contributions to the sector, industry and national economy.

He added that Turkey's paint sector has a volume of around 1 million tonnes and holds approximately 2% of the global market. Paint and raw material exports exceeded $1.5 billion as of 2025, clearly demonstrating the sector's international integration. “After Germany, Spain, France and Italy, we rank fifth in Europe in terms of production. Our goal is to move higher in this ranking and build a stronger global position through innovative and sustainable solutions,” he said.

Kayalar: “Our Industry Has an Economic Scale of $2.47 Billion”

BOSAD Vice President Tolga Kayalar emphasised that the global paint market is expected to reach approximately $198 billion and 48 million tonnes in 2026, rising to $227 billion and 52.7 million tonnes by 2030.

He said that Turkey's paint industry is an important regional player thanks to its deep-rooted production culture, strong industrial infrastructure and broad SME base. According to BOSAD's 2024 data, the sector has a domestic market volume of approximately 926,000 tonnes and an economic scale of $2.47 billion. He noted that bridging the gap between production capacity and export value is one of the industry's most tangible growth opportunities.

Akçalı: “Our Industry Can Adapt Very Quickly to Global Regulations and Changing Standards”

BOSAD Vice President Akın Akçalı highlighted Turkey's advantages in the global paint market. He said that many major paint producers view Turkey not only as a market but also as a production and export centre, particularly for operations aimed at Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He cited the country's strong production infrastructure, agility, skilled workforce and flexible industrial structure as major advantages.

Hakan Ünel, BOSAD Vice President and Fair Committee Chairman, said that the organisation aims to deliver a productive and sustainable event that is followed internationally. He added that social and technological activities are being planned to create a strong impact and raise awareness.

CNG Group Chairman Yaman: “We Are Preparing to Welcome Many Exhibitors and Visitors from Europe and Asia”

Following the BOSAD board members, Cengiz Yaman, Chairman of the Board of CNG Group, said the fair is moving forward this year with the theme “Discover the Magic of Colours” and has become Europe's second-largest and the world's third-largest event of its kind.

Yaman said that this year has brought a record number of exhibitors: registrations from more than 400 companies across 35 countries have exceeded expectations. The target for international exhibitors has risen from 35% to a record 46%. He added that the fair's profile is strengthening, with the share of paint-producing companies rising from 6% to 20% and the total share of manufacturers from 7% to 25%. The goal is to bring together more than 10,000 industry professionals from 70 countries, including 3,500 international visitors.

The three-day event will be more than a commercial platform; it will also serve as an industry academy. Sessions and panels will explore the sector's future, covering the latest technologies, sustainability solutions and other leading developments.

More Than 10,000 Visitors Expected

Paintistanbul 2026 will open its doors for the eighth time on 17–19 June, bringing together the paint, raw materials, construction chemicals, adhesive components, laboratory and production equipment sectors under one roof at Istanbul Expo Center.

Held across four halls at Istanbul Expo Center, the event will cover 40,000 square metres of gross exhibition space and 14,000 square metres of net exhibition space. More than 400 exhibitors and over 10,000 visitors are expected. It will provide participants with a strong international platform for promotion and business development, new commercial connections, potential partnerships and current global market trends.

Innovative Products and Advanced Technologies to Be Showcased

Throughout the three-day fair, innovative products, advanced technology applications and solutions shaping the sector's transformation will be presented. The accompanying conference programme will feature expert sessions on sustainability, technological transformation, new production trends and opportunities in global markets.
